Yes there are a few elk in around Darrington and even a few have been seen on the Pilchuck tree farm. They are few but the number is growing.

Thanks for the info. I'v been told of the small heard near Snohomish, that someone killed the heard bull a few years ago and took the backstrap and horns and left the rest. He got caught and did time plus lost hunting rights for a-while

Actually East of Monroe, and the poacher killed it near Sultan. There have been sightings as far west as Robinhood Park housing development above the county fairgrounds .
A$$ was busted because he bragged on a barstool in Sultan, Startup, or Gold Bar. Not sure which. Hope he did lots of time!! I believe that happened in '98 or '99
Verlot huh? We're almost nieghbors.

I have seen lots of sign up in acme area, but have been told by a couple oldtimers that the poaching up there has gotten pretty bad, and the dnr won't get off the block top and do anything about it. It take time to poach an elk and get it out of there, I don't know how people can do it and not get caught.

I hunted that herd for a few days during the october (i think) hunt on private land, saw a few head one bull about 3 point size. Saw them one day and then never saw them again.
