Wayne, we may have to work something out with a morning hunt or something on this side. I'll still be chasin' animals around here after we get back from your place, and I'd be glad to pack out some meat for you. I know you've already got a hunting partner down there, but maybe I could pay you guys a visit. Just a thought.

I think it can be cuz of the antler resrtictions,I hunt East for everything but Elk just because of that, ya don't draw a permit(which I'm not in favor of) and you get to bag a Spike only[:'(]

Not that I wouldn't take a Spike, but I'd be more for bigger antler resrtictions then what they have on your side(for the most part)

The other reason maybe is us over here on the "left" side[:'(] are just sick an Dog tired of the brush[:'(] You ever get out to the coast and head down throught the Hemlock/blackberry/slile/fern jungles? Man they get old wuick especially on them drizzly day

Yep, you gotta love chasin' elk in the jungle. They don't make a "breathable rainsuit" that can keep up with me when I'm fighting the underbrush. Rain's never a problem during the early season though. The problem then is finding land that hasn't been shut down for fire danger. If I could find a good spot on the East side that wasn't Spike or Cow Only, I'd be there. I don't need the big rack, but let's not kid ourselves about how we dream of tagging one of the big boys.

I watched that Dog & Pony Show from the comfort of my living room. Haven't talked to the guys in the PT department to see how Secret Service ended up treating them. We rearranged that PT clinic 3 or 4 times in the last 2 days before the show. I think I saw every hospital big wig and wanna be big wig a half dozen times. Not happy about how the final selection for meet and greet was handled, but it wasn't any of GW's doing, just his crew. As George Strait talked about in "Pure Country", it was a bunch of dancin' chickens. The White House Staff was controlling the hot plate.
