Default Odds of drawing non-res. big game combo tag in MT

Does anyone know roughly what the odds are for drawing a Non-res. combo tag for montana. I have one prefrence piont? Thank you for your help

It's roughly 50/50. I guess they give out a huge quantity. We put in last year for the first time and got drawn so I'd say your odds are good. Also you can pay an extra $20 and it kind of gives you a boost in your odds of getting drawn, for the price of the tags i'd say it's worth the extra dough to get it.

We drew the first time we put in, but most had told us that if you put in the first year, you probably won't draw, but you will more than likely draw the next year if you have the preference point.

It's all in the luck of the draw though.

last year myself and a buddy applied for our first time for a combo license, both of us drew successfully. i know 2 other guys that applied for a deer license only for their first time, both drew successfully also.

i've heard they are hard to get so i'm figuring they ain't that hard or everyone i knew got extremely lucky. regardless i believe your chances are pretty good.

if you don't draw and still want to go hunting you can always put in for a bear tag in june or august.
