My 15 yo daughter has pulled the youth first time hunt, cow elk, for Oregon's Unit 251T. That encompasses Sumpter, Keating and Pine Creek units. This is the only kid of mine that doesn't hunt/fish but she wants to go and get out of her comfort zone and try ...... or just spend time with dear old me .... whichever, I'm not complaining. Am looking to gain any knowledge of any of those units that may assist in getting her face to face with cow elk. Yes, I have begun my research online, and I'll call the biologist for the area, but I have learned through the years that nothing beats people that have been in the area and know where to go, or not. Any and all assistance on helping us get into some cows would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
