Let me introduce myself...
Hello all. I have been reading through the threads on this site for over a year now and have just decided to join up and ask a couple of questions.
This will be my first year hunting anything. My buddy and I just finished our hunter' s safety course and are very excited for the coming season. We already have plans to hunt deer in eastern WA later when the season begins, but for the time being we just want to get out in the words and practice scouting and tracking.
I was thinking of doing some black bear hunting in GMU 460 when the season begins August 1st and see how that goes. I don' t know where to go however and would like as much advice (on anything seriously) that you can afford me. The idea is just to get out and familiarize myself with the terrain and maybe, just maybe it will pay off.
Thank you.

Thanks for the welcomes!
wahuntinman: above I mentioned that my buddy and I would be deer hunting in eastern WA and it just so happens that his cabin is in aeneas valley. I didn' t realize there were to many bears over there. Without giving me any of your secrets spots, where are good places to hunt in that neighborhood?

His cabin is in the valley and about a quarter mile north of Lost Canyon. Not sure about other landmarks though. I guess we are very close to state land and are trying to figure out where to hunt. We will be there this coming weekend looking for bear sign.
