got an opportunity to take a job in 1 of 3 locations
Frisco, CO
Chakamas, OR
Flagstaff, AR
now they intention is to go to a place so i can hunt big game
specifically elk, beer and mulie
i heard that AR only does a tag drawing for hunters....is that true
and if so does anyone know if they other states are like that
money isn't a real issue but i am not looking to blow 2-3 grand if i can help it
also which states have the best herds of the three critters i mentioned and just how easy is it to get to good hunting grounds
thanks for your time and responses and good luck to all this season

Flagstaff, AZ has good temperatures. I think you must draw for an elk tag and you won't get one every year. Qial hunting is good in AZ. But south of Flagstaff towards Phoenix gets real hot.
I am very familiar with Frisco, CO. Big skiing place in the winter. Gets lots of snow in the winter. Right off I70. Good elk close and west. Lots to do outdoors. Lots of bear now in Colorado. Deer, Antelope also. Good fishing for trout. Housing cost could be a problem.
I'd go there in a new york minute.
The big problem with Colorado is too many people and not enough good jobs. (Other than Denver) People will live there just to live there and take a job that may not pay as well. If you can get a good paying job and can come out OK on a house, then go for it.

Oregan has good hunting and fishing. The housing may be cheaper than Co but the hunting should be the same. My only knock on Co is that the upland hunting should be a lot better than it is. Az can be an awsome place to hunt if you are in the know. Awesome dove and huge deer near the Co River. Ducks and geese in the same area and hugenormus elk if you get the tag. It is a toss up for sure. Have you visited any of the areas? You should...

housing isn't a problem
i work as a contractor for hospitals
rent and travel expenses are paid for
boy the CO deal and the OR sound nice
would love to hunt in AR but it's to risky to be out there with the chance of not pulling a tag
let you all know where i'm going when i find out
thanks for the responses
