RE: Alaska Thread
Ok...lets forget about eating out. I usually don' t invite myself over to other peoples house, especially not for dinner, but some backstrap sure does sound good:D:D
Seriously, Awesome job Jerry...couldn' t be happier for you! Have a safe trip back up north. Jim |

ABM- CONGRATS ON THE ELK.
I' M NOT HUNTING WHILE I' M HERE, COULD NOT SEE SPENDING $435 OR WHAT EVER IT IS TO RIFLE HUNT THEM FOR 1-2 DAYS. I EVEN HAD AN INVITE FROM JJ TO COME DOWN SOUTH TO HUNT WITH HIM. BUT SUNDAY I PLAN TO DRIVE TO CABELAS AND SPEND SOME MONEY. THEN HEAD HOME MONDAY. |
RE: Alaska Thread
Jim, you are more than welcome to come over and we' ll cook up some elk and whatever else might be in the freezer at the time. I get back up north on the 23rd, and I' ll find out about my time off while I' m up north, so we can get something firmed up.
Nim, I went ahead for the weekend warrior chance and put down the $480.25 on the elk tag. Glad I tagged out on opening day as it was a chore getting that boy off the mountain. Found all sorts of new bruises and scratches when I woke up this morning, and I spent nearly the entire day butchering elk. Got most of it done, but have a little more to wrap up. Lots of good looking meat on them elk, and I fried up some tenderloins today for lunch while butchering... MM, MM, MMMMMMMMmmmmmmmmmmm! Dang cocroaches are out on the porch now, they must of smelt all the blood. We sealed off all the cracks in the doors and hope they don' t get in. [X(] Another joyous part about living in Vegas. I WANNA MOVE BACK HOME! |
RE: Alaska Thread
Jim, I just read back on the posts and saw the dates you are coming in. My family is coming down the first week of December, so I won' t have to worry about them while you are here. Let me know what your schedule is like while you are here and we' ll feast. [8D]

Jerry
I was honestly pulling your leg...I' d never invite myself over to anyones house. So, please...only offer if you REALLY want to do something like that. I' m not exactly sure of my schedule yet either...not sure if I will be working days or nights. As I hear something, I will definitely let you know. Congrats again...Jim |
RE: Alaska Thread
ABM- I DECIDED TO SPEND THE TIME WITH THE DAUGHTER INSTEAD OF HUNTING AND SPEND THAT MONEY. BESIDES 20 YEARS AGO I HUNTED THE RIFLE SEASON HERE IN COLORADO AND THERE WERE WAY TOO MANY PEOPLE OUT THERE. ALTHOUGH I DOUBT OTHER HUNTERS WOULD HAVE BEEN MUCH OF A PROBLEM IF I HAD HUNTED WITH JJ.

RE: Alaska Thread
Jim, no problem at all. I could tell you were being a tad sarcastic, but you are more than welcome to come over and we' ll cook something up.
Nim, I hear you on too many people. I see why there is a hunter orange requirement! I shot my bull at 2pm, and around 5pm the elk started moving again and all hell broke loose on the mountain. I probably heard 30 shots that night before dark! [:o] There were probably 8 hunting parties in the same mountains. Then there were even more campers and hikers on the trails below. I see why they have such a great impression about hunting when the season comes around and World War III breaks out above them. Next year I think I' m going to head up north to Oregon during bow season. Gotta see what I draw back home first... if I draw something. |
