RE: Alaska Thread
PHISH-ON- I HAVE NOT SOLD THE BOAT YET IT IS OUT OF THE WATER AND PARKED AT HOME FOR THE WINTER. ANY HELP TO SELL WOULD BE APPRECIATED.
ABM- I GOT WITHIN 70-80 YARDS OF 3 7/8 CURL RAMS THE LAST AFTERNOON.....MOVED TOO FAST AND WIND DID ME IN. IF I HAD HELD BACK FOR A COUPLE HRS AND LET THE WIND SWITCH TO DOWNHILL AS IT USUALLY DOES IN THE EVENING I MIGHT HAVE HAD A CHANCE IF THEY WERE STILL AROUND. BUT WE WOULD HAVE HAD A WALK BACK IN THE DARK. YES I' M UP NORTH UNTIL 15TH AND I HEAD TO COLORADO ON THE RED EYE NIGHT OF THE 16TH. I DON' T THINK I WILL BE HUNTING. ON THE OUTDOOR CHANNEL - HUNTING ACROSS AMERICA IS AIRING THE FOOTAGE OF LAST MAY WHEN MY GOOD FRIEND LANCE SULLENTROP (SULLY) INVITED ME TO BOWFISH WITH HIM IN LA. MIKE AND JIM OF HUNTING ACROSS AMERICA ALTERNATED FILMED US AND SHOOTING FISH WITH US. WE HAD A GREAT TIME. LOTS OF ACTION IN THE TV SEGMENT. SHOWS AGAIN ON FRIDAY AND SUNDAY. |
RE: Alaska Thread
talked to fish and game...got a maybe 1 killed on the drawing. I know of one permit holder and he hasnt hunted yet. Go figure eh lol

RE: Alaska Thread
Nimrod, can' t wait to see it. SEAK comes back up a week or so before I leave, so hopefully we can make it out there to see it. You can buy us dinner. ;)
Off to Colorado in a week! Yehaw! Just talked to my cousin and he' s getting pumped up too. Hopefully I' ll get some great footage, we' ll have plenty of folks in camp. Lots of area to hunt though. Dan, just as I figured, maybe one or two this year will be taken. Sure hope I can go after them again next fall. I' m more interested in a grizzly up there than a brownie down in South East. Don' t ask me why, but I' d love to get one up there. I sure wish I could of had that opportunity a couple of years ago over again, still bums me out today, but I can' t go back on it now. Phew, still in the 90' s here, sunny, clear, light breeze. Had to hide behind a palm tree today to get out of the sun. And I' ll be hunting in a week. Guess I can' t complain too awfully hard. :D |
RE: Alaska Thread
VBM - Is the bugling all done in the area you' re headed into. I think that would be a lot of fun to have as a side show while looking for a good rack! 90' s, huh? I' d be nothing more than a grease spot if I had to be out in those kinds of temps. [8D] Take one of those camelbak packs with you to keep hydrated so your calfs don' t knot up! Nothing' s worse than working your way back to camp (especially with a fair pack) and having the " charlies" catch up to you. Is the transportation going to be 2-legged or 4-legged? If I don' t get to between now and your departure - here' s wishing you the best of luck! :D
NIM - I' ll try to remember to get your boat ads laminated and posted here in the Harbors. Are there any changes - everything still current? I thought about you yesterday when I saw a group of goats up on Mt Juneau during some clear weather. I saw them early in the day - and was thinking how much fun you' d have trying to put a stick between the ribs of one of them. These wouldn' t have been the best situation, they were at the head of a circ with a steep talus slide beneath, and then. . .about a 375-425 foot drop into a patch of boulders and shrubbery. (Kind of looked like a " launch site" to me!) BTW, what happens when you stick a goat in the right place - do they hunch up and tip over, or haul ass? A few of mine rifle-shot tipped over pretty quickly, but most hauled ass (usually in the WRONG direction) and messed up some pretty good plans! [:o] :D |
RE: Alaska Thread
PHISH-ON - YES THERE ARE SOME CHANGES I HAVE SENT YOU AN EMAIL
GOATS - MAN I WANT TO GET OUT TO CHASE THEM ...WON' T BE HAPPENING THIS YEAR. MY GUESS IS THEY WILL RUN A SHORT DISTANCE THEN WALK....MOST LIKELY TO A BAD PLACE AND TAKE THE BIG DIVE. I SURE HOPE NOT WHEN I STICK MINE. |

What celebrity do you think could replace Murkowski? I hope they deport these idiots. Hmmm, think they got this idea from Cali? |

ABM
Good job on the bear pic!!! Looks like your gonna have a lot of fun with that cam. I know I have enjoyed my cam, and it is a third less than yours 8-) Curious if you are going to be in Vegas Nov 17th-21st. If so, maybe we can do dinner one night. Jim |
RE: Alaska Thread
Jim, I get back to Vegas on the 13th of November, so yup, I' ll be here. What are you coming through town for? Maybe I can set up an autograph signing for your big bear, I' m sure half this town heard it. ;):D
I' ve got family coming through Vegas at the same time, but we can definately hook up for a dinner or lunch. Do you know where you are staying? |

Jerry
This is one of those few times, work becomes pleasure. I' ll either be staying at Nellis, or right off base in town...TBA! I' ll let you know something for sure as soon as I get the info. Good chance my stay may run until the second week of Dec, but the dates I posted above is what is the current word. Gonna bring the wife down either the weekend before or after too, so we can hit the town together. If I remember I' ll bring my sharpie and few 8x10s for the autograph session :D Only kidding. I' ll try and remember to bring the photo album though. Got some great pics from last year' s goat hunt and some gorgeous ones from the sheep hunt this year. Pick a date that is convenient with you and lets firm something up for next month. Good luck on your CO outting. Gonna try and sneak out here in a few weeks for some whitetail action up north. Jim |
