Good ol' GITMO... what a rock. Thankfully I was never actually stationed there - played a lot of games there, but thankfully I got to leave. Welcome to the board TitianHunter. Hope all ya'all out there chasin' elk and deer w/a bow are doing some good! Counting down the days till the duck opener - and then modern deer. Boy I sure miss gettin' out there.

Hello all. I had the most exciting elk hunting experience of my short elk hunting career. Unfortunately, it didn't put meat in the freezer. I posted the story on yajsab's topic on the elk opener. Now I have to switch gears and start locating a late season spot to put some meat in the freezer.

Thanks Wayne. I can still see the fletching sticking out of his front shoulder. Makes me wonder why I carry a bow, but then I remember it's about the hunt not the kill. That 15 yard encounter should be enough to solidify that. It was awesome.

Robb, what are your plans when you get here? Chasin' deer, bear, elk, all of the above? It'd be great if we could get a group together for a few cold ones and some good eats. I don't know if I could make it all the way over to the east side, but I'd give it a shot.

Slee, three doctors told me three different possiblities for whatever virus it was. The one that made the most sense to me was a mono type of virus but not mono. Regardless, strength is coming back fast, but not quite up to snuff yet.

On a different note, I am back at work full time as of today. So will now be able to keep up with the conversation. Though my boys don't like me being gone, they pretty quickly got used to me being around all day everyday.

I WOULDN'T MIND ALL OF US HAVING A GET TOGETHER, WE FLY INTO SEATTLE THEN WE ARE RENTING A CAR TO DRIVE TO SPOKANE. AS FAR AS THE HUNTING, I'M THINKING DEER, BEAR AND COUGAR, AND IF TIME AND THE SEASON IS OPEN THEN ELK, BUT STILL HAVE TO SPEND TIME WITH SOME OF THE FAMILY WHILE WE ARE BACK.

ROBB92 Actually I'm in the Army doing Enduring freedom down here in GTMO, Not much to do here besides work workout & check the net I'll miss all of big Game & most of small game I might get a couple of weekends of late Duck & grouse maybe some eastside Pheasant this year.

Robb, what dates are you thinking you would be available for a get together? When I was first thinking about it, I was maybe thinking coffee/dinner and actually had half considered suggesting Ellensburg or Wenatchee due to the centrality of location.

Morning all, Hope all is well, not much going on here, going into the home stretch with this class, then back to work for a week and then back to washingotn for some much needed h&r. We'll be coming back on the 10th of October and then leaving on the 31st of October. Titianhunter, know how the enduring freedom thing is, i got deployed last October to turkey for 51 days in support of the food drops the C-17 were doing, talk about fun! Picked up some nice shotguns, and missed the hell out of my wife and kids.
