Wayne, that bird was taken just about 100 yards above the power line. We stopped on the way back to camp to take a scenic picture along the creek. Yeah he was that rugged looking when you stopped by. He must've been in the shade at camp or something.
Thanks for the info Gator99. I hunt Ft. Lewis for deer, so I'm already registered with the Adventure Center and I would be ok to fish. It also pays to be an Active Duty Dependent. I can go anywhere on post I want, as long as it isn't restricted. I've heard Spanaway Lake is pretty good to fish from the dock too, but I've never been there before. I'll figure something out between now and next week. Hope y'all have a good weekend.
Hunt hard, live right, and tell your kids you love 'em!

Hi Wayne ! Glad to hear the bucks are out there ! How far from the house did you see that buck in the lower field? - - - I've been stuck in the big city for the last few weeks so its nice to hear that the critters are out there in the woods doing their thing. The concrete jungle is driving me crazy lately! Hope you all are doing great. Good Hunting!, - - Rob

Well, I found out that the # I had for the taxidermist was the wrong one. So I called the Processor that gave me the name and his # shows disconnected. So I will be heading down south again to do some scouting and will stop by his house to see if he is still around. I hope so, cause the bear is looking real promising this year.
Nascar, will be sending an e-mail by Wed, went out there and he wasn't home.
Did anyone hunt Ft. Lewis for deer??? I heard there was a nice one taken out of there last season. I did see a nice buck in 11 but tried to get in on the second season and it was full. Ran into a guy at a gas stop and he had my buck in the back of his truck. Just my luck.
The one that was taken was a 5x6 or a 6x7 not to sure, was wondering if anyone knows.
