Spot Lighting Coyotes. Legal in CO?
I was told that spot lighting coyotes here in Colorado was illegal so I want to find out to make sure I don't break any laws. I went to the DOW site and couldn't find anything. Doing a search on the net turned up nothing as well.
If you know for sure, please let me know.
Thanks.

Took me a little under 2 min:

Page 5 left hand column next to the cottontail picutre.
Next time look harder.

Thanks for the help and you're right. Must not have been looking hard enough.
Found this. Page 6 of the .pdf. #7.
On private land, artificial light is allowed at night to hunt beavers, raccoons, coyotes, bobcats, striped skunks and red foxes with permission of landowner or agent.
Just to make sure I might as well call the DOW and find out. Thanks for the number, madmax83192.

You are absolutely correct that it is legal on private property with the permission of the landowner. One thing too, I'd advice ya to call the local wildlife officer of the area you plan to hunt ahead of time and let him know the general area and landowner's name, just so that when he gets a call at midnight, he already knows what is going on, this will prevent some probable headaches for you and him/her

Thanks, Howler.
I tried to call the DOW to find out whether it was legal or not and after 10 minutes of "Your call is very important to us....blah blah blah", I hung up.
It will be done on private land with the owner helping me. He wants to get rid of a few coyotes that has killed a calf. Night time is our only chance to get after them with our working schedules. I'll have to have him call the neighbors and let them know what is going on so that we don't have any complaints.
