2006 Archery Caribou
Well here is my 2006 Archery Caribou from AK. I stuck him on the 4th day of our hunt. It was unguided, although my friends brother guides up there and we were able to stay at his place and hunt out from there. We got with in 72 yards and the bull bedded for the next 3 hours. We had to wait until he got up and moved over a rise. After the whole heard moved over a rise we snuck up there and he was 20 yards walking away from us. So we had to wait again, they moved 50 yards over another rise, and we did the same thing, only to spook him this time when I stood up at full draw (he was 25 yards broadside). They moved off and he stopped at 55 yards facing us, (I am still at full draw) he then trotted out to 71 yards broadside and I shot, hitting him low in the lungs. (I usually would never consider shooting that far, but I had been shooting my 60 yard pin with very good groups, and new where I would hit at 70). He went about 150 yards bedded and I snuck up to 10 yards and I heart shot him for good measures.
He has an inside spread of 46 3/8, with an outside spread of 48 3/8, I rough scored him at 329 3/8. He has great mass, top points and palms. He has very weak shovels & bezes which kill the score, but I don't care he is a tremendous bull for my first one.
He was taken down by a Gold Tip 5575 tipped with a 100 gr. Wasp Boss Bullet.

That looks like one big animal; what would he have weighed? Heckuva shot too. Shooting competition out to 70 yards, I know how much practice it takes to be consistent out that far. Good job.
