I think I'm going to take the plunge next year and give alaska a try. I want to keep it simple and do a caribou/fishing trip for starters. Any suggestions on how to go about this or who to outfit through would be appreciated.

I don't know about alaska but my brother and some uncles just got back from nordiq outfitters in quebec last week and had some pretty good success. There were 12 guys and they took 23 bou. My brother took the largest and he scored between 360 and 365. They also did some fishing and caught a bunch of lake trout. It was mostly catch and release but they did keep 1 or 2 for dinner. I think the largest trout they caught was 7 pounds. All in all they said it was pretty good. I don't know if your set on alaska or not but figured it was worth a look if you're not.
