I can back up what BHB said. The area he's refering to is great for hunting. And the draw for bow hunting is a cinch. Good comment Buck

The draw for the Breaks is not a cinch for a NR because they have to draw the tag first in the regular drawing and then they can get the Breaks permit.

That is unless the legislature passes the bill to limit the number of NR hunters in Breaks to 10 percent of the resident unlimited number of permits. As an example if 4,000 resident hunter put in for the archery permit then NR would be limited to 400 instead of the unlimited number now given.

PA BOW Hunter,
That is too bad you had such a crappy experience. Maybe after being out here, you could just come back and do DIY. We have lots of public land that outfitters can't tie up for themselves.

I see your advice to others for hunting Montana. I am trying to organize a hunt again for a group of my family(2 brothers, 2 cousins, dad). I have hunted the Lima and Dillon area with mixed success. WE saw animals and brought home a cow, spike, muley. Saw one nice bull for about 3 seconds 350 yds up a draw. The weather was very warm with no snow and so the guys with horses were getting everywhere. Still a blast. What areas would you recommend? My dad is 65 but he gets around good. he's hunted elk in MT and CO but has yet to take one. I would love toget him around elk again even if he were to tag a cow. Thanks in advance.
Dan
PS-I sent this to your personal email also, sry about the repeat.
