Default montana tag odds

Anybody have the odds on getting combo tags .We did not get them last year but did buy the point. Life is to short to go a couple of years tring to get a hunt together. We Plan on bow hunting . Any body know how much money the state gets in intrest on all the cash they hold and then send back to the unlucky applicants

All I know is that if your a non resident you only have a 20% chance of drawing. Or you can just buy them for like $900.00

Depends on if you are talking Deer combo or Elk/Deer Combo. A deer combo is fairly poor odds compared to the elk/deer combo.

Outside of the Outfitter set aside there are 2,300 deer combo license,2,000 deer combo landowner sponsoredlicense and 11,500 elk/deer combo license available.

Your odds with a bonus point for the deer combo are about 38%, without a bonus point about 12%.Land owner sponsored is 100%if the landowner owns enough land. The Elk/Deer combo is about 65% with a bonus point and about 40% without abonus point.

I don't know why you are griping about the interest the Stateearns onnon successful license fees. If you don't like them holding your money then don't apply. You can go outfitted and have 100%chance of hunting every year.Outfitters require a deposit why shouldn't theState of Montana. If you don't draw a tag you get some of your money back. The tag is cheapest part of coming out for a hunt.
