Of all the autoloaders I have looked at I think that Benelli has the smoothest shotguns on the market. If I was going to spend the money on an auto I would save my money and buy the Benelli SBEII.

You should really go to a large sporing goods store and look at a lot of them and decide which one you like the best.

Good luck

For waterfowling I like the Browning Gold 3 1/2" the best. Here are some others that I like. In 3 1/2" models Benelli SBE/SBE II, Beretta Xtrema/Xtrema II, Browning Gold for the more expensive models. Mid price 3 1/2" models Franchi 912, Winchester SX2. In 3" models High end Benelli M1/M2, Beretta AL 391, Browning Gold. In 3" models Mid range Beretta 390, 3901, Pintail/ES100, Franchi 612,712, Weatherby SAS, Winchester SX2. Low price Stoeger 2000, Traditions ALS 2100, Verona SX405.

If you hunt ducks you know the damage and abuse they take in a boat, blind, by your dog, etc. So after having my expensive guns scratched nicked and dinged I went to Wal Mart and purchased a black synthetic Charles Daly autoloader for a whopping $300. I have not had one single problem with this gun and I don't worry about it getting beat up. I have killed numerous birds with it and have no regrets whatsoever.

Thanks. I am thinking about getting into the sport. Any good "newbie" guns?
Thanks, Wes

"Newbie" by that I take it that you need a bargain. Maybe the Stoeger2000 is what you need. It has the same recoil system as the Benelli for a lot less money.
