Default waterfowl shotguns

I am going to purchase a new shotgun for goose hunting. Probably a 12 ga., 3 1/2 inch pump. Any specific recommendations? Browning BPS, Remington 870??? 26 or 28 inch barrel.

Most waterfowlers prefer a 28" barrel, but look for what feels best to you. All of the 3" and 3 1/2" 12's that are out are pretty good guns, the most important thing, LOOK AT ALL OF 'EM AND PICK WHAT YA LIKE!!!!! that being said, i shoot a Benelli Nova with 26" barrel and I really am happy with the gun, i use it for a lot of hunting since it shoots so well for me. Good Luck!

Pick what fits and what you can shoot most effectively-in this case size doesn't matter all that much-Remington 26"-12 guage for me

ORIGINAL: DUCKSTAMPEDE

Pick what fits
There isn't a huge difference from one pump to the next, they are mostly all reliable, pick what fits you the best.

The 870 Express is by far the best choice for a pump.

Stay away from BENELLI though.

Go to www.MSDUCKS.com, click “Waterfowling Forum” and then click the “MSDucks.com Forum.” Once you are in the “MSDucks.com Forum” go to the message subject "Nova Problem?"

This is typical from BENELLI owners. Those that get lucky and get one that works swear by them. Those that don't cuss em and move on. A friend of mine borrowed my gun yesterday due to his Nova. And for goodness sakes don't by a BENELLI Auto. You will really be asking for trouble.
