Most waterfowlers prefer a 28" barrel, but look for what feels best to you. All of the 3" and 3 1/2" 12's that are out are pretty good guns, the most important thing, LOOK AT ALL OF 'EM AND PICK WHAT YA LIKE!!!!! that being said, i shoot a Benelli Nova with 26" barrel and I really am happy with the gun, i use it for a lot of hunting since it shoots so well for me.
