Default got me a new gun!!!!!!!

hey every one!, this year for christmas i unwrapped a unexpected present!!!! a browning citori 20g. over and under with a imp. cylander choke on the bottom and mod. on top, my buddie told me it would make a great duck gun ( but about a month ago he also told me geese didnt land in hay field and yet that day i limited out~! so id like your opinions or suggestions, some of the pros and cons i could think of!!!!

cons

* only 2 shots instead of my 3 in my 870!!!! so what happens when that big flock of mallards fly up all my budies get 3 and i get 2??

*theres if fine wood on this citori the last thing i need is to scratch it in the duck boat !

*it has a shnobled forend and english stock (mostly needed for fast shouldering in the field!~) or would that come in handy on the water????? ( you tell me!)

pros

*no need to pump it its practically a 2 shot auto loader!

*i would have a better gun than the rest of my huntin buddies!!

* i also am way more accurate with it (dropped a crow at 50 yards with it i only leed 'em bout a foot and a half!!! lol

let me know what you think thanks for [putting up with my abnormall long post !

The first shot is the most important , hit with the first shot first before you try for more shots.
It will work for close rang ducks but if your 870 is a 12 gau. I would stick with it .
Yes the stock will get scratched up
Some like the strait stock , that's up to you
Yes you can shoot 2 shots faster ,but hit with the first and you don't need to shoot the second.
Who cares how much "BETTER" your gun is ,it's how good you shoot it.
A 18" lead at 50 yds ? on a crossing target at 50 yds that is flying at 20 mph you will need over 5' of lead

50 yds. was a estimate! ? is all i know is it was a bout 30 -40 feet over mature trees ! it could have been closer to 40 yds !~? but if you insist on theory being accurate im sure im probley wrong that or else you calculations are! is all i kniow is that crow crumpled!! and i leed him around 1 1/2 or 2 " i didnt measare the shot with a tape measare so i am probley wrong again its just a estamate

I agree with john, it would have required more lead BUT the lead looks smaller than it really is once you get out at farther ranges. As far as the 20 Ga it is a great gun but you need to pick your shots and try closer shots for it to be greatly effiecient....and as far as the better gun, that just depends if you are killing birds by looks or skill! I am the poorest guy out of my group of buddies but i repeatedly seem to outshoot them all, but I try to get more days in the field and try to practice more also, skill outperforms gimmicks and looks everyday of the week!!!! I hope ya enjoy your new gun and have fun with it, just practice, practice, practice!!!!!

If I was gonna hunt with a 20 for ducks I would shoot 3" Hevi-Shot or Kent Impact out of it.

If you shoot it better than its a no-brainer. 20 ga is fine on decoying ducks. Jumpshooting the river may require the 12, unless you can get close enough. Heck I use a 28 in the blind sometimes with Bismuth. Most times from the boat though I have the 870 12 in my possesion. It's only a 2 3/4 3 " magnum but with the hevi shot 6's a 3" shell is plenty for me. Steel 3's do a number on dropping em but they don't fall dead.

Shoot what fits you and shoot it in the situation that fits.
