Default choke for geese

Hi to all.I'm new to the forum and to goose hunting.I'm going this week with some experienced hunters.I just bought a winchester super x 2 .It can handle up to 3.5".It came with a full choke and the dealer said this was best unless I could call them in better than he.Ha ha.What is your advice?Field hunting mostly but some over water possible. Thanks and Merry Christmas!!!!!

What are you shooting ?
Steel IC,Light mod , Mod or improved Mod
Hevi shot IC ,Light mod or Mod
Tun. Matrex or Bismuth mod ,Improved Mod or full
You will have to pattern your gun /choke /load at different ranges ,every gun and choke is a little different.
NEVER shoot steel or Hevi shot thrue a full choke not labeled for it ,you can mess up the barrel and choke!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The tightest I like for geese is modified, but I do like to use an IC quite a bit also.

Look at the choke and directions for the gun. Don't take his word,
The clerk way just have wanted to move it.
And I still would not use it !!
Ducks or geese canada or snows?
For canada geese I shoot # 2 Hevi shot 1 3/8 oz 3"
Steel BB , BBB or T as fast as posible in 3.5"
matrix #1
Bismuth BB
PATTEREN YOUR GUN !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have seen gun/choke shoot 2 feet left and low

What about for a Remington 870 and shooting geese??? came with a modified choke but Ontario rules say no lead when hunting waterfowl. So I'm thinking I should change the choke (I'm assuming the stock choke ain't for steel) But which restriction should I buy??

All Remington chokes LESS than full are steel rated.
IMO patteren your gun with the mod and see how it looks.
If you want to buy a new choke a Briley extended Light mod for all around steel shooting is what I recomend. You may have to order it.
