I live in Mississippi. I have only been duck hunting for one year. I killed four Scaup. I have realized duck hunting is very hard. I have a question though. Do the stupid ducks get shot on the way down leaving the smarter ducks for us Mississippians to shoot. I am probably one of the last people shooting the ducks as they make their way down south considering I live on the beach.

if all the dumb ducks would get killed on the way down there .... ya wouldnt be shootin many at all .... lol ....thing is .... they get conditioned ..... if ya do sumthin different than what others are doing .... ya will kill birds ............... dont try to call like all the other people ...use diff spreads...... diff methods etc .... its not that they are smart .... they just see the same things over and over again from when the canucks start shootin at em .... lmao

I think that ducks only have to get "educated" a time or two then they get leery of sets and calling, i try to hunt in more out of the way places to avoid getting ignored so much by birds, also it is more important to be where the birds wanna be once they have been pressured.
