I shot one the other day and looked it up in my bird book. It says it is a "Bufflehead". Can you eat them or are they a nasty mud duck? They are a small black and white duck.

they taste fine in my opinion. Just cook em up like any other duck and enjoy. Some people say they taste bad but I think they taste fine.

I think that they are alright, just a hair stronger than puddle ducks but still taste pretty good.

Nothing wrong at all with a Bufflehead, just like any other diver.
