autoloaders???

A lot of you guys prefer auto guns for waterfowl,I like shooting them at clays and small game but couldn't justify using them on waterfowl as a rule. Unless I am incorrect some of the power is used to cycle the gun, so what is the good in buying magnum waterfowl loads to not have their full power. I am not trying to be rude and I know the best gun for an individual is the one they shoot best, are most confident with, etc. Just wonderin'.

I don't think energy expelled on the working of the action effects the performance much. Not much to speak of anyway. I have though this same thing before. I shoot a pump for waterfowl personally. First a pump can take more abuse that waterfowl hunting often dishes out, IMO. Second I don't burn through as many shells.

Not really, most of the local lakes around here fill up with them in november. Buffleheads, mergs, goldeneyes, and a few bluebills. we use our same setup as early season and get plenty of action. Get ahold of me in the fall can always fit one more in.
