I don't think energy expelled on the working of the action effects the performance much. Not much to speak of anyway. I have though this same thing before. I shoot a pump for waterfowl personally. First a pump can take more abuse that waterfowl hunting often dishes out, IMO. Second I don't burn through as many shells.[8D]
