mud motor and boat
i was thinking about getting a 5.5 to 6 hp go devil or mud buddy or whatever i can get the cheapest ( probably used). just want to have a boat i can put in the back of my truck and load and unload myself if alone.i am just not sure what to buy, i was thinking maybe a 12' flat jon. i sure wouldnt mind having the carstens canvasback duck boat but it is around $800 to $1,000 bucks. anyway i was wondering if you could put a mud motor on a cheap little jon boat ? thanks for any suggestions

RE: mud motor and boat
you'll be underpowered, underboated, and regret the purchase.
i bought a 1436 (my first boat) a few years ago, and a 13hp mudbuddy. it's fairly good, but it's small, slow, & i can't hunt out of it. but it's easily concealable since it's small, easy to move around (in the water and on the trailer) since it's small, and it was only $550 new.
if i had to do it all over again, i'd get a bigger boat.
