Iam planning to buy an Over & Under, but really confused as to go for which maker. My inclination is towards Beretta Silver pigeon but if i can get help or advice on it i would be really grateful.

Take a look at the Weatherby. The Centurion or Orion both come in aeveral styles and are real class. I have a 20 and 12 and love them.

Ultimately the gun must fit you no matter who the manufacturer is. The less you have to move your head towards the stock to see down the barrel the better. Try to shoot different brands if you can.

Im' pretty sure more people buy Browning Citori model o/u's more than any other o/u model. believe me...they feel great. what a smooth swing and so many different options to choose from.

I have a 525 Sporting in 12 ga. and a White Lightning in 16 ga and they are both such sweet guns....very classy and top of the line!!

Check each one you can find out. See which one fits you best. I dont like the Browning Citori. It seems too fat for my liking. Beretta is about the best out there. Benelli an Franchi are also VERY good. If your on a tight budget, the Stoeger O/U's are real nice for the price!! Just make sure the gun works for you.

A Merkel is pretty sweet if you can afford it. I own several over/unders and the biggest thing to look for is personal fit and if you get an opportunity to shoot the gun, be sure both barrels pattern to the point of aim. This is the biggest problem with production shotguns.

If you have a great place to hunt, then you won't miss that third shot, but what are you planning on doing with it? Waterfowl, upland, trap, skeet, or clays all require a different weapon.

Good luck!
