RE: High Dollar calls

"If you want to spend $100 to impress your hunting buddies, by all means, choose the higher dollar call. If you want to improve your calling, choose a call youy are comfortable with, then practice, practice, practice, practice."
Well said OhioDuckHunter!

for a begginner that cant blow a call at all, call choice is a very hard thing. Everyone told me to get one that felt good or that i could blow easier. Well what feels good, i cant even blow one, how am i gonna know is this ones better? You know? Once i got the hang of calling i could tell a difference in calls, but before i could quack, they all seemed the same...impossible!:D

The only real difference that i have found is that the more expensive calls will not stick like the cheaper ones will seems they but more time in design. i have a 25$ call that i love and keep replacing reeds on but can't use it during the later part of the season and end up pulling out the more expensive/better built call they all pretty much can be tuned to sound pretty close to the same. stick with a quality manufacture and you will be fine and like others said practice till you can control the call to sing along with the radio.

RE: High Dollar calls

I hunt a lot of waterfowl and over the years have started collecting duck calls. Do I think high dollar calls are better? Yes. Are they worth $100? No. When I go hunting I use a $40 call.

Ohiohunter says it best.
