The nova is a great pump gun. I have one.

I also bought a $330 Baikal auto........best $330 I have spent, has been flawless.

Quote--"Check out Franchi Variomax 912. This is the same gun as the Beneli Super Black Eagle. Just cheaper. Franchi is manufactured by Benelli. It's an awesom gun."

How can the Franchi Variomax 912 be the same as the SBE when it is gas chambered? The fact that the SBE is not gas chambered is what seperates it from all the rest.

I will be more than happy to except my mistakes!!!!!! I do own the 912 and like it a lot. I thought it was the same as the SBE, but I stand corrected. There is a correlation between the 912 and one of the Benelli guns, but I'm not sure which one. Sorry for the mis-information, and I stand corrected.

Don't worry, I have let a couple lines fly with good intensions, only to find out that it wasn't exactly correct.

There is a link on the Benelli website for Franchi so I assume that Benelli owns them as well or something of the sort. I do agree that they are good guns. I hunted some quail with a guy last year that had an over-and-under and he was tickled to death.

I do that for sure......Franchi is indeed owned and manufactured by Benelli. I'm not sure if they are made in the same plant. I watched a show on the manufacturing process and facilities of Benelli. Very impressive. They did not mention Franchi....the show was sponsored by Benelli.

I do know that Franchi and Benelli share many parts. Many of the actions and stocks are the same. Again...not sure of which models are the same. Either way...both are great guns. I ended up going with the Franchi because the price was easier on my wallet.

Whatever you decide stick with a pump gun the maufactures have not figured out how to deal with the extra recoul from the 3.5 and alot of the bolt returns are snapping call your local gunsmith and ask him what 3.5's he hasn't seen yet that will be worth more than any other info. and keep his number handy if you do buy a mossberg.

I'd go with the Benneli Black Eagle semi-auto any day!
It handles anywhere from a 3 in to a 4 in shell.

Works great on all!
