RE: california ducks???????????
I am in the mid valley in Oregon and the birds are just starting to show up. I saw a report that there are 575,000 ducks in puget sound Washington. We are having a big storm blowing right now so things will get better.

Hey Guys,
Shot San Jacinto last Weds, had B3 on the big pond. Me and my buddy Mark had busted 5 birds within the first 30 minutes, and had 2 limits and off the pond by 10:30. BUT! We were in the spot where they wanted to be AND we were the only blind with NO spinners and only 9 dekes! Less is more sometimes! The wind kicked up, which brought in flocks of bulls, widgeon groups, and some gaddies in singles/pairs.
Then hunted Kern Saturday with two friends. Missed a few birds, but I'll tell you, for mid-December there were very few birds and very little shooting! I was disappointed but hey, that's why it's huntin' and not killin', right?
Birds are out there, just be ready to think out of the box. Maybe it's just a pair of mallards, 5 bulls, and a couple teal dekes...and make sure you've got some movement in your spread. Maybe it's just a couple teal and a pair of mallards. And, <gasp>, no calling! Mix it up and be ready to be mobile. If you're not where the ducks want to be, go to them. Maybe ditch the dekes and break a sweat moving some tule patches out of your way~you'll be surprised what's hiding inside that thick stand of impassable green!
Shoot straight and kill 'em with one shot!
