Default what would be a good waterfowl gun?

I'm looking for some advice on what to use for waterfowl hunting. I am new at it and I'm on a tight budget. Iwas leaning toward a mossberg model 500. what are some of ur opinions on that? any information would be helpful. thanks!

Remingtom 870 Express, Express Mag, or Wingmaster all of them are great great great waterfowl guns. Especially for starting out I wouldn'teven look at anythign else. I shot an 870 express mag. for about 10 years and just retired it from waterfowl hunting for a benelli M1 super 90. I still use it for deer hunting or if someone I'm taking out duck or goosin doesn't have one I let them use it. They are just great all around guns.

870 Express ...besides the shotguns working flawlessly for me over the last 15 yrs...when you have to field strip them, an 870 does not have half the amount of parts on your table as a Mossberg does, and are a heck of a lot easier to put back together.

This is just one man`s opinion.

Stick to the Mossberg, in my opinion, the best waterfowl gun for the money. They aren't fancy, just a pure hunting machine.Check out the links below for more opinions and experiences concerning mossberg and jamington.

You should also check out the russian mp153, from what I've been hearing, they are top notch and quite affordable.

Ditto... Remington 870 Express is the A-#1 choice. Legendary name. Legendary reliability. I know a guy who has a 1956 Rem 870. This old beatup gun is amazing! It still kills ducks/geese just as it did when new in 1956!

I own both guns and have to say I like the Rem 870 the best. It's built much better than the Mossberg IMO.

I shot with a Mossberg once and it kept jamming on me. So I got a Rem 870 and had no problems with it yet.
