I saw an ad for low velocity (sub-sonic) loads for hunting geese in highly populated areas. My question is - geese are pretty tough. Wouldn' t going to a weaker load result in more cripples? That would be something I' d want to avoid - especially in higher populated areas.

they also make a 30-some-inch long barrel extension to use with those loads. its screws into your existing choke tube threads.
that' s right. the overall length of the barrel is going to be 54+ inches.
i think the geese in highly populated areas are relatively tame. should be no problem getting them within 30 yds or so, so even the low velocity low noise loads should work. they make this specifically for situations where there would be no hunting because of the noise from standard or hi-vel shells.
