What 3/12" loads gave you guys the best results this year? I' m thinking of going to a 3 1/2" goosethumper next year, but still trying to decide if that extra 1/2" will make a noticeable difference on the birds. To those with experience, what do you think, does the 3 1/2 give that much better range, pattern and killing potential? Once I get this figured out I can move on to picking out which gun to buy[8D]

I own a browning BPS in 3 1/2 inch and I always keep a couple in my pocket for when i see or hear a goose. normally I shoot 3' s for duck. I think there is a very noticable difference, unless your using hevi shot 3' s. But thats expensive. Buy a gun that is versitile and decide for yourself, If your a big goose man you' ll be more than happy!!!

There is a very noticable difference in the 3 1/2. If it' s Goose you are after, a 3 1/2 with a 28 in. barrel is the way to go, you will be happy with that. Try and find something that will chamber 2 3/4 and 3' s too, for versatility. You may find that if you hit a duck good with a 3 1/2 there won' t be much eating .

If you can see their eyes, you don' t need 3.5 inches of solid shoulder pounding steele. A friend in the boat shot some with a 28 last year on opening day. Granted he took first shot and we shot backup but he smacked them anyhow.
