Books for a NooB
#1
Hey guys, glad I found such a great informative site. I am a complete noob to waterfowl hunting but looking and eager to give it a try. It is something I have always wanted to get into just never had the time or resources. I was wondering if I could get some advice on some good books out there to increase my knowledge on some core things I need to know. I read a couple of the forum posts here and have been making a list of potential equipment to look into. I had found a few titles that seem to be liked among some.
Duck Decoys, and how to rig them by Ralf Coykendall
Successful Duck Hunting by M.D. Johnson
Successful Waterfowling by Zack Taylor
Misty Mornings and Moonless Nights by Norm Strung
Ducks at a Distance: A Waterfowl Identification Pocket Guide by Don Hines
Thanks all and any help is grateful...

Been recently reading about chokes and different types of reeds and where to get them. The different types of ammunition and the purpose each one serves with certain chokes. I seen a lot of info blinds and tree stands but think I should focus more on what I wrote above. I guess the most important thing to do is to just go talk to a buddy and get some experience after reading as much as I can here on the site. I have seen I have a water treatment facility not too far that allows waterfowl hunting in sept and when season starts. Identification is key to respect limits and wildlife conservation. I have taken my hunting certification class and getting ready to get my license. Again, site is very informative.
