Default Point me in the direction of some non tox 28 gauge

I know the debate of the 28, but its what my wife has. We got it for upland, but I thought maybe we would jump some teals. So what do you think for manufactured loads. Shot size? Brands?

26 inch barrel, modified choke

Price is not really an issue, she wont go through more than a box a season through her break action.

I load my own NICE shot loads in 28. Mine is a little bit hotter than the factory loads but not much. It is a deadlier load than 12 gauge steel.

I haven't heard of a steel load in 28g. I think you may find something in a bismuth load. Have your local gun shop, try to source you some.

Cabelas carries steel loads for the 28ga but I bought Evironmetal's Hevi duck subgauge in 28ga. from Cabelas. I have both the 3/4oz #4 and #6 loads and I shot a mallard drake last year with the #4 but I would recommend the #6. The problem in your situation is that Modified choke is the extreme limit you want to shoot hevishot with. But if your wife does her part the 28ga with hevi shot is on par with many 12ga steel loads.
