Default Permanent Duck Blind

After over 40 years of carrying stuff and huddling in cold boats, I have the opportunity to lease a large pond that is habitually used by all kinds of waterfowl. I want to build a permanent blind. So, I am looking for suggestions and a few answers.
1. I plan to build the blind 8 X 12 feet and at least 6 1/2 feet tall at the back side.
2. About 1/2 the floor space at the back will be curtained off for heat and cooking purposes.
3. The front 1/2 or 4 feet will be the shooting platform with a 4 ' high rail around the front edge.
4. Doors from the shooting platform at both sides and possibly a rear door.
5. If I can figure out how, I will try to include some plans soon.
6. Question, I would like to use wood heat so I do not have to mess with propane. Would wood smoke scare off waterfowl?
Thank you for any help.

I would think it would. That's a pretty good size blind. Are you sure your gonna have room for the fridge and microwave. Ha
Good luck and hope you kill lots of ducks.
