I posted the same question on another duck hunting website. The concensus was that it's just another gimmick. They might have more lethality under 40 yards compared to spherical steel shot, but at longer ranges the fast fast steel is probably going to be better.
I'll probably keep shooting my 1550 or 1625 fps regular steel.

What chokes do you use with 1625fps shot if you like shooting past 40 yds? Most full chokes do not recomment using shot with those speeds...

Steel is steel no mater how you shape it. The only difference is the speed, faster means a FEW more yards, but thats it. Only makes a difference if you make it heavier for kenetic energy upon impact. That is why I shoot Hev-Metal and Hevi-Shot all of my waterfowl shooting. I shoot 99% of all my waterfowl loads through a Briley Extended, Ported, Improved Modified tube. When I shoot the larger shot, BB-B size shot I open it up to the same brand and design tube but go to Modified.

These are two marketed rounds by different makers offered as a trap and skeet round. I've bought and used both over the years and have had good luck with reloading both brands. I can use either empty when reloading for the range or competition using 8 or 9 shot. I don't see any real big difference when using them on the range as I always use the same powder and load criteria regardless of which shell I'm reloading.
