setup problem
can someone please give me some help on location. I hunt on a slough that is very shallow and is probably 1/2 mile around. I have my blind setup right where the river and the slough meet each other and ithought that would be the best place to be cause that would be there escape route. BUt i only seen like 7 birds all year fly through but they were going bye so fast i didn' t even have time to pull up on them. I am located on the southwest corner of the slough. so is that a good setup or what please help me out.

By no means am I an expert on this, but don' t forget to take wind direction into consideration when setting up your dekes. If the slough it 1/2 mile, there may be better spots towards the center that are holding the birds. Do you have a canoe or a boat to access these core areas? What about walking there on foot to scout it out? Maybe there is a better feeding/loafing area close by that most of the birds flock to. Just a few ideas...
