Lead Shot Ducks Example

As a life-long hunter, I have no problem with research being made into the best material used for hunting without impacting the environment. I love helping the environment.
Bring on the research. Just don't try to forbid my hunting, or my guns, or ammo.

One area of oversight in the lead v steel shot that should be fixed are the multi-species areas.
Lead shot is legal for pheasant & upland, but field hunt geese & ducks in the same fields and lead shot is illegal. Lead is legal for nutria, swamp rabbits, and hogs. Hunt waterfowl in the same wetlands...you gotta shoot steel.

I think the reason is because hunting waterfowl, there is a lot more shooting in areas of waterfowl use when hunting waterfowl where a build up of shot is more likely when you are stationary shooting than walking and shooting distances apart.

Probably because most of us are smart enough to try to remove any shot in the carcass when we clean the game and if we miss any and find it when we are eating we spit it out and don't swallow it.
