Default Ducks, Deer, and Catfish

How many of you take a deer rifle or fishing pole to the duck blind with you?

I'm usually serious business when I'm duck hunting, eyes to the sky the whole time. But more than a few times I have seen some mighty nice deer running the timber or coming to the river and I've told myself, "Bring your rifle next time." I never have though. I've also had some buddies come home with some mighty nice catfish after hunting blinds on the river.

Anyway, this year I'm gonna bring a rifle with me and Imma leave a fishing pole in the blind.

i used to take a fishing pole with me when i duck hunted, though with how it worked out it was more along the lines of me bringing a shotgun when i went fishing lol. But if i had deer that i could legally shoot id either bring a rifle, or rifled slugs

Its illegal to do that unless your on private property here I'm pretty sure... As for thinking "i wish i had my rifle," the last day of early goose season i had a spike run along the bank of a pot hole we were hunting.

See for me, with the deer, itd be opposite, for it would be more along the lines of sitting in a duck blind deer hunting, and wishing i had a shotgun lol

Same thing here. I'm referring to hunting private land.

Actually I doubt I'll ever do it cause when duck season comes around, deer are the last thing on my mind. I'm just having a little bow hunting withdrawals this week. We only have a couple weeks left before gun season starts - Nov 22, which is when I make my seasonal exit from the deer woods. Mercifully, duck season starts on the 28th .
