never shot a wood duck. always wnted to. if i do shoot one i am sure iwill mount it. i have shot some very beatiful drake mallards and some nice lookin hens as well. so i would say that wood ducks and mallards are tied for 1st

My fav would have to be banned black duck I killed last year, and for feeding my face I like a nice mallard

There is nothing better than pass shooting at Scaup flying full speed when you can hear them coming like an f-14 on the horizon. That sound as they cruise pass you is what makes your hearet quiver and make you start to wish you would never leave.

It would be hard for me to choose because each and every animal I take is a trophy to me. I would have to say that in preference it would be puddlers over divers only because of table fare. Now some cans and bluebills are good but in overall I will take puddlers over divers based on cuisine. They are all a blast to hunt and the dog seems not to notice a difference or show a preference to one or another and a good dog makes the hunt so I like them all. My preference would have to go with whatever the dog handled well that day and sometimes all.
