Rem 870

What are the 3 barrels that come with it? Unless he is looking to hunt deer with it using a rifled barrel, you only need one barrel because 870s have changeable chokes. So you might be able to save a little money if you passed on the combo. Good luck though.

Ya Crow, they come with deer (rifled), turkey (shorter), and waterfowl (longer) barrels. A gun for every occassion.

How long is the Turkey barrel? I'm guessing either 20" or 24"? Why buy the combo 870 with a barrel your not going to use or need for $700 when you can probably buy the extra turkey barrel for $200 and pay $300 for the regular 870?

Maybe the Bennelli Super Eagle, it's pricey but it's sweet, remember he won't have to buy another gun, so get what feels good to him.
If budget is more of an issue then how about the Moss 935 turkey/waterfowl combo?

Get a Benelli Nova for less than 400 bucks. The 26" synthetic one I have was my first waterfowl gun and I still use it for turkeys and geese.
