New Decoy Idea
#1
My buddy and I recently came up with a pretty good idea for a new style of decoy. I dont want to give up too much info about it but I was just wondering if you guys had any idea about how to go about and show this to companies or get a patent/copyright. We dont have a proto type but have some sketches and such. Thanks for the help

Before submitting to anyone you need to write everything down and mail it to yourself and do not open. This will keep your rights to patent. If you do not you will be in the crapper. You will not have a leg to stand on otherwise. Higdon and Avery will probably like the idea best. Good Luck..

check this site out. you don't need to mail anything to yourself. just do a sketch on paper and have a witness date and sign it.

BigHonkers, the reasoning behind mailing is that you have an official letter with a postmarked date. Anyone can sign a drawing and put the wrong date on it...uh yeah some people are dishonest. Thus the reason behind the postmark.

I had a Notery , noterize the pages and date them when I went thru a simelar thing with a tool design
It cost me $5 a page
The tool company showed me a very close design thay had , but my idea worked better
I got a few $ , but not a lot
Spend a few $ and protect yourself
