From: in the woods or on the water...
haha, Inland of Michigan, opposing the Great Lakes has about 3 or four main species of waterfowl. I am not in the greatest area for waterfowling, but we make it work!
Geese > Greater and Lesser Canadas
Mallard & Black Duck
Wood Duck
You get an occasional passerby but the other species are just plain luck.

Wow thats not a big variety. These are all of the ducks I know that are in SC: Mallard, Blue/Green winged teal, wood duck, canvasback, redhead, scoters, scaups, ringneck, golden eye, bufflehead, all of the mergansers, black duck, pintail, bluebill, shovelers, coots
, wigeon, and gadwalls. Don't think I've ever heard of exotic ducks like mandarins, baikal teal, ruddy ducks, and other "wierd" ducks down here. Out of all of those ducks, all i saw last year was blue/green wings, wood ducks, mergansers, mallards, wood ducks and buffleheads. I plan to do a lil travelin this year to score some different species.
