Default Sandhill Cranes?

Anyone ever shoot and eat a sandhill crane? I'm in south Texas and had an extreme amount of them show up last December. I read online that they are tasty. Some refer to them as "Ribeye In The Sky". Worth hunting?

I live in east central NM and we get them here too. I shot three two seasons ago, and have been trying for more ever since. They are excellent table fair. They yield a large dark breast similar to a Greater Canada. Very much worth trying to harvest, you won’t be disappointed.

Nakota37 we get lots here also. never really tried for them, they just seem to hapen by. good eating, ribeye in the sky I think not, but I buy and sell cattle for a living so I may be biased! Andy
