Explain this to me
I was doing some bidding on some decoys, GHG duck shoveler decoys, and they where new in the box for six of them. Well, I started bidding and I wasnt going to go over thirty bucks with shipping included because other wise I might as well buy them new else where. The people on there act like ebay is the only place you can buy duck decoys because there paying enough for six decoys to buy atleast a dozen. I kind of want to email the people bidding so stinking much and tell them to save their money and buy them new at a sporting goods store for half of what they are paying. Im dumbfounded, but what can you do. If someone reads this and its you Im talking about, no hard feelings but there are places with better deals

RE: Explain this to me
Well,if they're in the situation like me, they don't have a sporting good store, so eBay and mail-order are my only options. I know I overbid on some things, but it's my only option to buy things.

Yeah I've noticed that too. Only thing I can think of is the situation KonaBoy is in. But then again there are guys out there that see something they want, and just buy it....they don't know what shopping around is. It's probably a combination of those who have no other option, and shear stupidity.

RE: Explain this to me
I live in one of those remote areas where ebay and mail order is about the only way to purchase my hunting necessities, but I'm also an E-5 (SSgt) in the Air Force and can't afford to pay what some people are willing to bid up to. I have found that if you shop a couple of seasons in advance you'll get much better deals. For example, if I need turkey gear, I'll start now. Otherwise it's cheaper just to order from Cabelas, Wing Supply, or wherever.

RE: Explain this to me
I bought a mix of mallard and woodie dekes 24 in all. They were in great shape and were on sale for 40 bucks. I bought them at a small sporting goods store thinking that I would use the dekes when I got out on my own. Well I get home only to find out my dad was gonna give me the dekes we already had! I ended up selling the dekes I had just bought on ebay for $96 bucks plus shipping... Pretty crazy somtimes. Also I used to sell pheasant tail feathers on ebay and people would pay a dollar a piece but now everyone does it so its not so lucrative.
