This is the last weekend for woodies so went went this morning and dropped a few. We limited out in about 10min. 2 each = 6 woodies and 3 mount worthy.

I know theres only 5 in the photo but we had put on in the freezer already. we got 2 females, 4 males. We dont shoot the females given a choice but it was rite at daylight and you couldnt tell who was who.

Beautiful birds the Lord has made. If I had to pick just one duck to hunt it would be the wood duck. I got 2 this morning with one shot and they were not on the water at least not until I shot. Did you get them in timber or on a river? How long have you been shooting the xtrema?

awesome birds. mines at the taxi right now. i agree wood ducks are fun cuz of how fast and unexpectedly they come in. i hunt em on a small creek in the woods. usually you dont get your gun on them until its too late.

The Extrema is about 3 hunts old. great shotty like it better than my SBEII. We busted them all in timber, on a friends lease , we had been seeing them fly over low head during deer season and figured there had to be a pond near by. We have 3 at teh taxi at the moment. I have never had a duck done before. The woodie is a Very Awesome bird, bright pretty colors.

It seemed like Woodies were the duck we did well on duck opener back here in MN the last week of Sept. We limited on them, too. There were a few very beautiful drakes in the bunch. I find them kick and fun to hunt. Waterfowl closed in this neck of the woods back in mid-Nov. But it's now only 8 more months more or less before we're at it again!
