RE: waterfowl bands
No bands this year just yet. But have been lucky enough to be killing birds rather regularly (at last). Still have a little bit of time left though but, birds still haven't shown up in force. I am concentrating on black ducks for my band hopes. Seems that there are more blacks banded per capita than any other bird.
Hopefully I might get another goose...lots of the residents get tagged once or twice.
Heck, I just hope the weather gets cold before the season closes in another two weeks. Helps your chances if you acctually kill birds in the first place!

I shot a banded snow goose. It was my first band and my first snow (technicaly my second since I got my first two on a double).
I have not got the certificate yet but I am hoping it was banded in Russia where the geese I was hunting mostly gome from (Wrangel island of the Siberian Coast)

I killed my 7th banded duck this past Saturday. Not seven this season, but my whole life. It was a Mallard. Last year I killed a Mallard with two bands, one with a $100.00 reward on it.
