I was out this morning checking some of my favorite spots as season opens this saturday in TN and I walked up on 4 mallards, 2 of them took to the air and the other 2 just sat there. Well after about a minute my dog and I realized they were not gonna fly. So she took after them and almost caught one but I called her off. These 2 mallards couldn't fly at all, all they could do is swim and flop across the water just like they had been shot So what's your theory?

Cliped wing , tame ducks is my guess

I had a goose like that once that me and an old friend walked up on while dove hunting with pellet guns. We shot at it untill he went and got his shotgun. First ever time Ive seen a dead goose. More than likey it was tame

Yes we do, but usually it's at the end of the regular season and I haven't heard about one before regular season.
