Default Making a duck pond

Thinking of relocating several beavers onto my property to dam up a creek in the woods for a duck pond. What do you all think? I know most people don't want beavers, but if we keep them under wraps, will this work? What I've got in mind is something like a flooded timber area...

Where are you daming up in No. Va. ? I would imagine that a Beaver is going to choose where he wants to make a home.

Just a small creek on our farm. Thinking it might take a chainsaw, backhoe, and a few beavers...

RENT A SKIDLOADER IT WILL DO FINE AND ABOUT ANY ONE CAN RUN ONE AS FAR AS THE BEAVERS I WOULD LEAVE THEM OUT AS THEY ARE MORE OF A HEADACHE THAN ANYTHING ELSE, ALWAYS PLUGGING UP TUBES WHEN YOU ARE TRYING TO FILL OR DRAIN YOUR AREA HERE IN IL WE TRAP THEM OUT BECAUSE THEY ARE SO DESTRUCTIVE IN OUR WETLANDS

I believe you are on another message board along with me. Exact same thread was posted earlier today.

Forget the beavers and do it yourself.

Here's a story for you. There isa rather large pond on the property next to us. There were some beavers that moved in. They kept damming up the drain pipe. Me and the neighbor guy would clear the pipe and the next day it would be dammed up again. We got alot of rain for a couple days and water was starting to flow over the top of the dam because the beavers had the pipe clogged. We feared that this might cause errosion over time and cause the dam to give way. The owners nephew was called and he had someone trap the beavers out. I think the beavers might cause the same problems with your pond.

Sorry. I just reread your post. I see now, that you want the beavers to create their own dam. Go ahead, give it a try.
