Default Birthday present

HEy my birthday is comnig up on september 1st and my family is getting me a videocamera. The price range is about 400 i would guess. Can anyone tell me the best camera i could get for around the price range? Thanks in advance.

HEY!!!! my b day is sept 1st. hope you get a good one. i have a Sony handycam and i think it was about that price and i have recorded several of my hunts and my fiance'. if you are recording these for your personal use then it will work but you cant manually focus these. they auto focus so it will be very difficult to do tv quality video. hope this helps

If you can get a Pamasonoc PV-GS320 this is a great camera for the price (about $300). It has 10x optical zoom and is 3 ccd. It's a good choice.

The only draw back on the GS320 is the lack of external mic and headphone jacks...........a GS500 would be a better choice if you can find one.

I agree about the GS500 but alot are priced over that $400 mark. The little 320 will take some nice footage and as long as you are aware that you would be able to be far from the camera like you would with a 500 and wireless mic you will get a decent sound and nice pics.
